OFFICIALS WITH THE HARDIN COUNTY SCHOOLS PLANNING COMMITTEE HELD A MEETING LAST NIGHT. THE MEETING DISCUSSED POSSIBLE IMPACTS TO LAKEWOOD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS. SEVERAL PLANS ARE BEING CONSIDERED BY THE COMMITTEE INCLUDING TURNING THE CURRENT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL INTO A NEW WEST HARDIN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND REDISTRIBUTING STUDENTS TO OTHER SCHOOLS. ANOTHER OPEN FORUM WILL BE HELD BY THE DISTRICT TO GATHER COMMUNITY INPUT.

A FLOOD ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT ACROSS THE AREA AFTER HEAVY RAINFALL OVERNIGHT. MORE RAIN IS EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY TODAY. THE RED CROSS IS IN WEST POINT TO HELP RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES AS WATER CONTINUES TO RISE IN THE AREA. THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAYS NEW PRECIPITATION TOTALS OF NEARLY AN INCH ARE POSSIBLE BY THIS EVENING.

A FORMER MEADE COUNTY TEACHER IS ACCUSED OF HAVING AN INAPPROPRIATE RELATIONSHIP WITH A FORMER STUDENT.  MEDIA SOURCES ARE REPORTING THAT AMY HAMILTON ALLEGEDLY HAD A 15 YEAR OLD AT HER HOME IN CORYDON, IN MARCH OF 2018.  POLICE SAY HAMILTON GAVE THE CHILD SEVERAL BEERS BEFORE THEY HAD SEX. SHE IS BELIEVED TO HAVE MET THE JUVENILE WHILE SHE WAS HIS TEACHER AT STUART PEPPER MIDDLE SCHOOL.  SHE FACES SEXUAL MISCONDUCT WITH A MINOR AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF A MINOR CHARGES.

TWO MURDER SUSPECTS ARE SET TO APPEAR IN COURT TODAY. RICK FISHER AND LISA HARVEY ARE SCHEDULED TO APPEAR FOR A PRETRIAL CONFERENCE AFTER BEING INDICTED ON CHARGES LAST YEAR. AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED, THE TWO ARE ACCUSED OF THE DEATH OF ANDREW FOLENA WHO WAS FOUND IN A SHALLOW GRAVE IN HARDIN COUNTY IN JUNE OF LAST YEAR. BOTH ARE HELD IN THE HARDIN COUNTY DETENTION CENTER ON 500 THOUSAND DOLLAR BONDS.
